Well, wonderfully you can. This Air Fryer Bread Pudding has a crispy golden surface and is wonderfully soft and indulgent on the inside. It's perfectly fluffy and blends in an instant.
In fact, you can enjoy this delicious dessert in less than half an hour after making it. (In addition to the time needed to preheat the fryer.)
Not only that, but relatively few simple ingredients are used to make it. It's also a great way to use up stale bread.
This is also the perfect summer dessert when you want something more substantial, as you don't have to heat up the kitchen with the oven on!

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE FRYER BREAD PUDDING
A few simple ingredients for everyday cooking, a six-inch pie pan or casserole dish, and a deep fryer.
Will need:
- 4 cups (140 g) diced white bread (3/4-inch cube, Italian, French, brioche, challah)
- 4 EL Sultaninen (golden)
For the pudding:
- 2 large free range eggs
- 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream
- 5 spoons of sugar
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (hot)
- There is 1 tsp of powder
- Puff of salt
To meet:
- Powdered (icing) sugar for sprinkling
- Vanilla ice cream
The best breads are brioche, French or Italian bread or challah. They make the most delicious and fluffy bread pudding, but you can use other flavors if you like, that's all you get.
You can use stale sandwich buns, hamburger buns, hot dog buns, and buns. Place the cubes on a baking sheet and allow to air dry for a few hours before using.
You can also use old French baguette. In this case, we assemble the pudding and leave it covered in the fridge overnight.
you don't like raisins??? No problem! Just use some fresh or frozen fruit. If using frozen, thaw and drain first.
You can even use chopped dried apricots or dates. The chocolate chips are also very good. Just say. 😉
HOW TO MAKE BREAD PUDDING IN THE AIR FRYER
You won't believe how easy this is to do!! As stated, you will need a 6-inch deep pie pan or casserole dish.
For the pudding, beat the eggs in a bowl until emulsified. Add milk, cream, vanilla, salt and sugar. Beat the hot butter. (If the butter is hot, it will melt rather than curdle.)
Grease a 15 cm round baking dish or baking sheet very well. Add half of the bread cubes. Spread 2 tablespoons of sultanas on top. Pour over half of the cream. Press lightly with the back of a spoon.
Repeat with remaining bread cubes, sultanas and pudding. Press the bread lightly to dip it in the pudding. (Don't worry if it comes back, you just want to get everything wet.)
Preheat fryer to 350*F/180*C for 15 minutes.
Place the pudding in the deep fryer basket and into the deep fryer. Cook at 350*F/180*C for 15 minutes. At this point the top should be a nice golden color and a bread knife inserted into the center should come out clean. (If you haven't already, return to the deep fryer and cook at the same temperature for a few more minutes.)
Let it rest for about 10 minutes and then sprinkle with icing sugar. Serve hot with scoops of vanilla ice cream.
I personally love that it is served hot with ice cream on top. I use my cookie scoop to scoop up several small scoops of ice cream for each serving. I think it looks really nice like that.
In the UK they would probably serve it with either hot cream or cold cream. Either way it would be delicious too!
Fancy bread pudding but no air fryer? No problem, you can bake it in the oven if you like. Preheat the oven to 350*F/180*C/Gas Mark 4.
Place the pudding mold in a bain-marie with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the mold. Pack until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted near the center comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes.
